Interestingly enough, the last three 787s have been delivered to Air India each exactly a month apart.

VT-ANO 10/04/2013
VT-ANG 11/04/2013
VT-ANE 12/04/2013

can you elaborate on that? AFAIK, there's only one type of 788, which has an MTOW of 502,500 lb. What's with the lower and higher capacities ?

in any case, the phrase 'older build' is strange, considering that AI received its first 788 only in Sept 2012. With AI, planes seem to age real quick Wink

The term is "Early Build". These refer to airframes till LN 65, requiring re-work or change incorporation. (More on change incorporation can be found here :
http://airlinersindia.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=12632&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=160 )
These are further broken down as :
Very Early Build (LN 7 - LN 19)
Early Build (LN 20 - LN 29)
Mid-Late Build (LN 30 - LN 39)
Late Build (LN 40 - LN 45)
Very Late Build (LN 46 - LN 65)

VT-AND is LN29, and hence an "Early Build"

LN25 VT-ANA (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN26 VT-ANB (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN28 VT-ANC (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN29 VT-AND (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN30 VT-ANE (KPAE built) : Mid-Late Build
LN32 VT-ANG (KPAE built) : Mid-Late Build
LN35 VT-ANH (KPAE built) : Mid-Late Build
LN46 VT-ANI (CHS built) : Very Late Build
LN54 VT-ANJ (CHS built) : Very Late Build
LN60 VT-ANK (CHS built) : Very Late Build
LN65 VT-ANL (CHS built) : Very Late Build
LN72 VT-ANM (CHS built) : Very Late Build
LN90 VT-ANN (KPAE built) : Very Late Build
LN91 VT-ANO (CHS built) : Very Late Build

To answer your question ("including Vt-ANE which are the "heavier " 787s from the initial lot being delivered to AI ") :
LN25 VT-ANA (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN26 VT-ANB (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN28 VT-ANC (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN29 VT-AND (KPAE built) : Early Build
LN30 VT-ANE (KPAE built) : Mid-Late Build
LN32 VT-ANG (KPAE built) : Mid-Late Build
LN35 VT-ANH (KPAE built) : Mid-Late Build

I believe that's one of the Chinese carriers (China Southern, I think).
VT-ANP is the only AI 787 being built at this time (either at KPAE or CHS). The next one will also be built at CHS (the future VT-ANQ).

Ah ok. Seeing the United aircraft in the background I thought airlines had unique decals identifying who the plane is destined for. Guess not!

That's great, but I'm not quite sure how it ties in to news & pics of the new AI 787s coming out of KPAE or CHS.
Perhaps the AI news thread would be a better thread to put it.

What the Shocked
I posted the picture here because I felt since most of the B787 news is here. I didn't know what rules you have your threads. Now I know, so it shouldn't happen again.
I see no reason why you should be sarcastic and mean about it!
Wow, you really should understand. Rolling Eyes

Check out the first post of this thread (which is repeated several times in this, as well as Part I).

Quote:
Folks, may I once again request that we stick to the debut of the Air India 787s in this thread. Thanks.

And it's not a rule - the title is self explanatory, in the Queen's.
This thread is not about 787 news - it is a "first look" (info & pics) of AI 787s being built & breaking cover at KPAE & CHS, and their delivery to Air India. The vast majority of AI 787 related news is in the AI news thread.
Anyways; no harm, no foul.
