THe margins they would get with lessors with SLB for CEO is actually negative in current market conditions for the CEO
There are ample 320 CEO available in the market. Only concern is - these birds may reduce the dispatch reliability |
Interesting - I did not realize that their ordered a/c were done! In that scenario certainly makes sense to pick up 320s from the market. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

IndiGo flies without CAT-IIIB crew to Delhi, diverts flights
February 9, 2015
In an alleged violation of the DGCA directives on operations during the low-visibility period, no-frills airline IndiGo operated today three flights to Delhi without CAT-IIIB compliant crew and later on diverted these to Jaipur.
The flights had originated from Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Pune and were all bound for Indira Gandhi International Airport here, which is the only CAT-111B compliant airport in the country, airport sources said.
An IndiGo spokesperson on being contacted said that the airline deployed the non-CAT-IIIB trained crew as there was no prediction of a "bad weather" at the Delhi airport.
"Three IndiGo flights from Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Pune for Delhi were diverted to Jaipur airport as the all three aircraft did not have CAT-IIIB compliant crew," airport sources said here.
Aviation regulator DGCA had in December ordered all the airlines to deploy CAT-III complaint planes and crew trained to fly under low visibility conditions while operating in and out of IGI airport in the morning to ensure smooth flow of air traffic during fog season.
According to sources, all the three diverted flights departed for their destination after an hour of their landing at the Jaipur airport.
In terms of on-time performance from four metro airports, 74.1 per cent of IndiGo flights from Mumbai airport and 75.7 per cent from Delhi airport were on time in December, according to DGCA data.
Also, as many as 58,449 IndiGo passengers were affected because of the flight delays, more than two hours, in December last year and were just served refreshments.
As against this, other airlines passengers, including the budget and regional ones, were provided with refunds, rescheduled journeys and monetary compensations due to the delays which were beyond two hours, the data said.

IndiGo accounts for over a third of lost baggage complaints in Jan-2015
News
9-Mar-2015 10:56 AM
IndiGo accounted for more than one-third of all missing baggage complaints received against all eight airlines in the domestic Indian market in Jan-2015, with the total complaints standing at 274 (Hindu Business Line/PTI, 08-Mar-2015). Of the total 1197 complaints for various service deficiencies of airlines during the reporting period, 274 were about baggage issues, with 103 complaints coming from IndiGo passengers alone. SpiceJet had the maximum number of complaints by its passengers in Jan-2015 (330) followed by Air India (252) and Jet Airways (229). While SpiceJet received the maximum number of complaints from its passengers on refund issues and flight problems, the majority of complaints against Air India were on account of flights and customer service. Most complaints by Jet Airways customers were related to service, receiving the highest number of complaints (32) on staff behaviour during Jan-2015. IndiGo and GoAir received 195 and 169 complaints, respectively, during this period, while AirAsia India had 15 complaints for deficiency in services. Vistara received two complaints for customer service deficiency in the very first month of its operations. |

IndiGo gets go-ahead for import of 400 aircraft
Mar 26 2015
Country’s largest low-cost airline by market share IndiGo has received aviation ministry nod to import 400 aircraft, part of the airline's earlier orders with the European plane-maker Airbus.
An official in the aviation ministry said that government had no objection to airline importing aircraft and the same had been communicated to the company.
"When an airline confirms the order it gives a token money to the manufacturer. For remitting money they need approval from RBI (Reserve Bank of India). When the airline submits its application to the RBI, aviation ministry's no-objection is required. Probably this would be the reason for IndiGo to seek the ministry's clearance," another official said who also wished not to be named. The airline had last October signed an MoU with Airbus for buying 250 A320 Neo aircraft estimated to be worth $25.5 billion at list price, placing the single largest order by an individual airline with the aircraft manufacturer. The airline had placed its first order for 100 A320s in 2005 at the Paris Air Show. Its second order in 2011 for buying 180 A320 Neos valued at $11 billion was also the largest order at that time. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.
