Not true, majority prefer early morning arrivals. the people who do not prefer this slot of arrival are pretty few.

Maybe, but many still prefer arriving at DXB in the morning. Tourists in particular.

Thats a small minority compared to the masses that travel between Kerala and the Middle East.. one of the reasons why TRV-SHJ never succeeded.

It currently looks like a standalone flight based from COK.

All the othes ones, from BOM/PNQ/BLR/MAA/HYD are not matching to a turnaround for this flight,
which either means there is another destination lines up from COK which the same a/c will do or it will hop on to TRV/BLR and do another flight which is not yet open in the system

Trying to figure out what is happening

Why, SG , why would you launch a flight without giving it enough time to sell????? Why on earth would you do that?

I guess SG hired 9W managers, too..

What would be the routing for this a/c.
When can we expect DXB from HYD/MAA/BLR.

So now Indian carriers have 207 weekly flights to DXB whereas DXB carriers have 194.

another 3 daily flights to DXB is expected to be added by Indian carriers.

When can we expect these flights and from which destinations.

Expecting the flight to RUH to be a late evening flight to operate as

DEL KTM/KBL DEL KTM DEL RUH DEL

Another a/c is doing DEL DXB BOM DXB DEL

the guangzhou will be a standalone 1 a/c rotation

Yet to figure out how the COK-DXB is being done

There are no standalone departures ex COK as of now in the system

Interesting routes:

DEL-CAN is the longest at 2271miles - and SG would go against CZ which flies their 757 on this route.

Is DEL getting all these services due to the new airport and capacity created?

Edit: Added DEL-DXB

I wouldnt say so, its more to do with the traffic.

CAN would have traffic from DEL and CCU may be, but CCU doesnt have that big a presence of SG to fil up that flight, so DEL becomes a natural choice.

Its a mix of bilaterals, traffic, SG presence and then the infrastructure availability

If you have to fly somewhere, you just do irrespective of the condition of airport and the current MAA is an example of that.

Then that leaves only SriLankan Airlines with interesting aircraft on this route. Apart from the A320s they also have 2 daily widebody flights.

What would be logic of launching AMD ahead of the traditional MAA, HYD and TRV or even BLR. Is there enough traffic to sustain AMD with 2 EK daily and 3X FZ.

Well, SG has time and again increasing its AMD presence and lately are into Blue oceans strategy. How much it helps them, only time will tell.

But for the connecting traffic, SG will not be a good bet

EK flies 3x Daily to MAA, HYD, BLR and 2x Daily to TRV + services from FZ & AI. Indigo is flying from DXB to MAA, HYD. For SG it is a better bet to fly to AMD, where there is less competition.

SG has restarted BOM-TRV. Not sure why it was stopped for some time.

SG also doesnt shy away from established routes internationally. It has joined EK,IX and 6E in starting COK-DXB.

Putting the safety of around 160 passengers at risk, two SpiceJet pilots allegedly got into a verbal fight over who should land first, sources in Mumbai said. The incident had occurred on Wednesday at around 7 pm when the Indore ATC cleared the Delhi-Indore flight of SpiceJet for landing. Around the same time, the airline's flight SG 1053 Hyderabad-Indore was also on the approach but was to land after the Delhi flight.

"However, the pilot of the flight from Delhi contacted the ATC, saying the Hyderabad flight pilot was arguing with him over landing. In the process, the two aircraft came at a distance of 3,100 feet though they were in the required vertical separation limit," sources added.

There were around 160 passengers onboard at the time. SpiceJet spokesperson was not available for comment.

A direct flight between BOM and TRV? Might be good for SG considering AI & 6E both have a stop at COK.

6E flies BOM-TRV direct. It is only after that, that SG had started and discontinued and so on. Typical SG style !

Everyone's flying from MAA, HYD and TRV anyway! Besides stimulating the market to an extent, it may also lead to EK selling fewer seats on AMD-DXB alone and earmarking more for connections beyond DXB.

Which means fewer people will need to fly to Bombay to go on Jet.

Everyone wins ! Wink

Oh, and Spice do seem to like Ahmedabad.

Besides, for all their faults, Spice Jet are not Jet Airways; they have an infinitely better chance of making this work.

SG has restarted BOM-TRV. 9W, AI, IX and 6E are the other daily non-stops. AI sometimes does BOM-COK-TRV-BOM, but for now its BOM-TRV-BOM.

Considering this, it means a new aircraft altogeather is required for this destination

And thus having a lot of space on it from 1430 onwards till about midnight, when it can be swapped.

So are we seeing another flight somewhere from SG ?

Can do a DEL-CMB if they have to, station is already operational, and rights will not be an issue

DEl-ATQ-DEL x 2
DEL-IXC-DEL x 2
DEL-DED-DEL x 1
DEL-UDR-DEL x 1
DEL-IDR-DEL x 1
DEL-JLR-BOM-JLR-DEL x 1

So its just 3 Q400s which are DEL based now ! For all that "we are opening a new base in DEL and will connect this and that " !
