Ai could do with these alterations to livery:
1. remove AI title from tail and extend Chakra to that portion.
2. remove red/orange stripes from fuselage
3. place AI english/hindi title in tandem on cabin, with the hindi one in orange and english in red, title size would have to be reduced to not look over powering.
Heres a version using IC logo, way better than AI chakra, also in this the jharokas are orange, egnlish /hindi titles both in red.

+1. Else we may see the dreamliners sporting various hybrids of AI's, IC's schemes, old and new...........and perhaps Vayudoot's as well! _________________ Yeah. |

That old AI livery is the most pathetic fit on a 787. Or for that matter, anything but the 747.
And Jeh, I just remembered that it's called "Air India Limited" now, not NACIL. _________________ Yeah. |

Last two posters are you kidding? awful compared to what??? you're acting as if I have created a complete new look 100% different to what AI is sporting now, unless you're visually impaired it might have appeared that way, but look again closely its AI's CURRENT livery, a good 90% of what they are wearing now but with some alterations, its an idea to trim the present look to something more palatable, and remove unecessary dumb additions, without dishing out millions for a complete change.
Or are you saying AI current look with the extra add ons, bad logo and the confused tail is better? if so you have very bad taste, I dont like the current or this livery idea much either, but is the best one can do while retaining the present look, are you getting it?

If I'm visually impaired, you are mentally impaired and seem to forget that everyone has his/her own views. If you cannot take criticism, don't come up with an idea.
Others may like it, but I categorically mentioned it is my opinion that the edited livery is awful. period. |

Who are you to say that it is a bad logo or has a confusing tail (whatever that means)? Oh, I see, that is your OPINION! So I guess you're the only one who can have one?
Oh and nice job stooping to name-calling. That will make everyone want to share your opinion. Well, more like everyone will have the same opinion about you. |

Either way it's their opinion. Forcing members to like your livery is both laughable and naive. Keep up with the name calling and it's a tough road ahead for you. _________________ Yeah. |

Who is the fool? Someone who states their honest opinion or the person who cries when someone doesn't like their work?
Stop calling people names and learn to accept criticism. Not everything you do will be liked by all no matter how good you think it is.
You've already been warned once, please take the advice given. |

Air India's second 787-8, VT-ANB is now painted.
VT-ANA & VT-ANB are now parked next to each other.

But will the 787 ever really go into scheduled commercial service?
That's the big question right now, isn't it? Who cares about minor revisions to AI's livery?
Incidentally, Indopaki, I like some of your revisions, specifically the use of both English and Devanagiri (Hindi) titles on the fuselage. The rest are too minor to really make a difference. However, your attitude is not commendable. Livery preferences are very subjective and very personal, and there are very few absolutes (the only one I can think of is the Biman old livery which everyone finds ugly - it may be interesting in this day of Eurowhite liveries, but its still ugly). |

I guess with your repeated display of your rancid attitude, it is actually you who are slapping yourself. Just because Air India adopts that horrible design does not change my opinion. |

If one clearly looks at AI Boeing,it is visible that AIR INDIA is not on TAIL,neither Red and Orange Stripes.
Before CWG,AI unveiled its revised livery, but no one saw this in the ad.

If this is going to be AI's new livery, with the AIR-INDIA name in English and Hindi side by side, then are we going to see another round of change for all the other aircrafts as well?
Won't this change bring additional cost to AI? Personally,I don't like this constant change of the livery of AI.For the last 4 years I've been seeing continuous medling with the AI livery by the management.
Why can't they stick to the current one with AI written on its tail? That looks OK to me. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |

Getting rid of the AI name on the tail makes sense for this livery. It only worked on the 747s and the older palace in the sky livery in any case. Also, having both the English and Devanagiri script side by side on the fuselage is far better branding, although it would look better if the second AI, be it in English or Hindi depending on which side of the AC we're looking at was in a different color - the orange used in the livery for instance.
In any case, I think it looks good. |

Why not just put it in English on both sides? Most airlines (including ones in India) keep their liveries in English. How many Indians that fly can only read Hindi? |

True. But try telling that to the Hindi-belt politicians. Frankly, I think that AI should mix up its fleet with titles in Tamil, Telugu, Gurmukhi script, etc., with the Air India in English being standard on all aircraft. |

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. They could keep the long-haul planes in all English as they are often at non-Indian airports and have regional languages on the smaller planes that fly mostly domestic sectors. |
