Nice shots , Vivek! So i assume the location adjacent to the Jet Airways hangar is safe for spotting since you've been there recently? |

Can't guarantee that. Just try your luck. However, the filth and stench there is crazy...

no offence 2 anyone here but just wanted to find out
how many ppl here think that posting pix of spotting locations.. especially from BOM should be encouraged, keeping in mind the security situation in the city.
From my point of you (again no offence to anyone) i think it shouldnt be encouraged coz due to this more unwanted ppl, the press etc will hover around there and that might end up as a restrict area which will result as a big loss for the spotter community. _________________ ~~~Indian Aviation Photographers~~~ |

i second that view xterra.
While the visual appeal of the photo is rich but, if i were a babu i'd have some questions.
I can now understand why none of the BOM spotters uploaded such a photo before.
Also why no one answered here - http://airlinersindia.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=7908 |

My opinion.....
Spot...but don't disclose details publically.
It can be misused by the wrong persons & create extra cautious attitude by the Authorities.

I agree.
Clicking and posting photos of airplanes is fine, but posting details about the location and showing spotters clicking photos can cause a lot of trouble for everyone. This will make the location out of bounds for the entire spotting community, not to mention the trouble this can get the photographer into!
We all know what we do is a harmless hobby, but the authorities WILL NOT buy it given the tough times we live in. Sad, but true!

Your message is really well put. I agree with you. If the media gets hold of this spot, the CISF may take action. _________________ India is one of the richest countries in the world.

No offence Sean, but please remove the picture from JP.
Although its a nice picture, you dont want to be showcasing such a sensitive location to the whole world when Mumbai is going through such tough times. Secondly, I dont want to be in trouble
If I remember correctly, there have been cops on the hills ever since Times of India printed a huge picture of people sitting on the hill watching planes with the caption "NOT TERRORISTS, JUST 'PLAIN' WATCHING".
Hope you are reading this!
Regards,
Aalok

Super shot, vt-ala. A320 it seems. What peak was this taken from?
I once had the pleasure of watching 2 Narrowbodies back-to-back above Peak Alang (Igatpuri, MH). |
