Can't quite see a door over the wings so it could be a 77L. |

Does EK schedule 77Ls to BOM? Or is this just a one-off? |

That's a 77W. If you look carefully, you can just see a break in the rows of windows over the wing. That is where the overwing door is.
@avbuff & xterra - Definitely not a 772. How could you miss the GE-90 monsters hanging from the wings and the raked wingtips?
Also, according to Flightstats, the morning departure on 3rd March - EK 505 - was a 77W. _________________ Boeing makes planes. Airbus makes videogames! |

Thanks. You are right about Hotel Mode. You can clearly tell from the exhaust gases being expelled with the prop stationary.

Captain, thanks for sharing this pic of a rather elusive bird.
I recount having seen two youtube videos of engine starts at COK - but they were from the inside. Do you have any more pics of the whole bird?
Further, are there any Air India decals on the plane?
Cheers, Sumantra. |

When i last saw her [yesterday ] she was a plain jane. Except for the Registrations markings, she is all white. Waiting for a day flight so that i can take a snap.
PS: The lady co-pilot in definitely is NO plain jane _________________ Always do everything into wind...... except piss |

Wow thanks, ALT STAR! Yes, in hindsight, perhaps the new Air India colour scheme may not look too good on the small tailfin with two distinct leading contours.

Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-267 B-HNL
The first Boeing 777 to roll off the Boeing assembly line. The construction of this aircraft was completed in April 1994 and it was designated WA001.
Although United Airlines was the launch customer of the 777, this aircraft remained with Boeing for flight testing for six more years till it was sold to CX in 2000.
More details about this aircraft and its interesting history here:

Great catch Vivek , not only a unique bird you got there, but also CX liveries altough are the best looking ones make it the hardest to photograph due to their grey bell, you seem to have done a great job in nailing them
