Dept of Post / AI not to vacate land for Mumbai airport

The private developer of Mumbai airport is at loggerheads with the Department of Posts (DoP) over a piece of land that the airport wants for expansion.

The DoP, which owns 25 acres adjacent to the airport area, has refused to part with the land, saying it is a residential colony of over 800 families of its employees. Similar is the case with AI which has refused the usage of AI offices & AI/IA colonies for development of CARGO terminal.

Now MIAL has only around 56 Acres for Expansion.

Wonder what IC will say when asked to vacate their Mx Hangar near the control tower,for construction of bays as per the approved plan Smile
