Noticed one thing common in USA, NZ, Aus, Germany that they have water canon salutes... why not in India? I am sure that is not the case here with Paramount. Others are new aircraft type, typically a flagship aircraft or for the inaugural flight of a new airline to the airport. For example they could do it when Continental arrives at BOM for the first time. Just don't make the mistake United did recently and spray foam! I like the idea of it as well, and I don’t know why they don’t do it in India. Yes they do it for inaugural flights etc but not for regular scheduled flights [such as a pilot’s last flight which I think is just brilliant.] Maybe it’s a hassle in India; the bureaucracy and time it would take to get permission from aai/fire department etc it seems painful. Don’t the fire departments have a prescribed time in order to get to the scene of the accident (if it’s within the airport boundary) I would imagine that the fire departments do meet that requirement. Yes now it has been done, infact great fire trucks, special trainers were also called from Aus, Ger and Brazil to train them. Sadly I would expect the equipment to be on the old side, but that’s the case for so many things. The employees might be competent but the government has never invested in the infrastructure.
