|
|
Hello members,
The SQ A380 at the top of the page is set to change soon. It's been there for quite a while, and full credit to the photographer who took the image.
Now, it's time to change to something more Indian.
So we request all of you to come up with some nominations for the pic.
Thanking you in advance,

Actually it would be more convenient if you could post the picture you would wish to see. _________________ Yeah. |

How about everyone submits/posts one photo of their liking (and one in which they hold the copyright or permission for) and we put them all up for a vote? |

How about ..only featuring, shots clicked by our very own in-house photographers (and we have several champion ones at that)
We can also update it every 30 days or so.. voting, if need be, can take place through the "photo of the month thread"
just my 2 cents |

I agree with the idea of keeping only AI.net members' photos as the header image....
Lets have the following criteria:
1) Pictures should be clicked by AI.net members.
2) Only airlines from India should be considered.
3) The header image should be changed - say once every quarter.

Since it seems to be AI / B747 day, here's my candidate.
PS:IMHO Deaphen's shot is better

Thanks so far for your suggestions & contributions. Vivek, your criteria list is correct.
Can we see some more pics? Once again, only Indian carriers, no EK, SQ, etc. _________________ Yeah. |

Considering the space it is to be compressed into or shrunk into ("Honey, I shrunk an Air India jumbo!!!"), guess the final image must be a sharp and clear one.
No point in having the majesty of a full plane losing its glory when it becomes ant-like. |

Some more, I felt that for such a small image, something like a tail shot makes the most sense.
Regards
Nitin
Sorry for the sensory overload. I promise this is my last long photo post! |

There are so many good ones...... why not try a GIF slideshow? Like Vivek said, lets keep the site dynamic. GIF can help in that.

I think the above pictures if posted in thumbnails or smaller resolution would give a better idea on how it would look once put on the site display.
Also, more than just the display picture, I think ai.net needs a vBulletin kinda forum than a phpBB.

Fully support your view, KCM. IMHO, an Air India tail in the new colour
scheme will be nice - possibly an upright one as in the 321/320/319,
as opposed to a tilted 330/310 one, or a fatter 744 one, or a long and
thin 777 one, or the small CRJ one, or the bit oblong ATR-42 one.
The flying swan metamorphosis original by member abolakanto on
flickr was a masterpiece, and my votes go for this one, as opposed to
an older livery (nothing against older liveries, but just that the newer one
looks nicer IMHO). Rutvij's idea is interesting - and yes, some sites have
a changing title backdrop, though I would lean towards having a fixed one.
Cheers, Sumantra. |
