It was me who was seeing things! I thought the earlier one was V9, so changed this one to V10. Have reverted back now. _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

I bought them seperately, but just to give an idea Nikon D200 body with Nikkor 18-200VR is available for $2000 + tax . http://tinyurl.com/6344b8 . Would require working extra hours to finance it, but pretty much done for forseeable future.rgds.VT-ASJ
p.s. folks! lets stick to appreciating members' photos. Please PM me if you have any equipment related question. _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

Sean, once again, thanks for some wonderful shots!
BTW, I miss pics of AI's 330s, and the 767 (is it still around? What about the 757?).
Your pics of the morning alarm are always welcome!
Cheers, Sumantra. |

Thanks Nitin, nope not that i can remember , atleast not etihad!
@Sumatra: Thanks! Of late AI has replaced the 767 with the 332 on the daily BOM-LHR afternoon flight. Have not seen the AI 757 for ages!
@ Mel: Yeah quite a few infact, but,pls bear with me, i'm upto my neck clearing the backlogs. Just can't keep up with the rush of it all. I've become the victim of my own hobby/passion.
P.S. What's with BZ's 752/732 suddenly rushing thru A4 in such a tearing hurry without striking a graceful pose ?!
Btw, the other day, while spotting , a foreign national in a maruti van stopped, reversed and pulled up below and was giving me a kinda quizzical question mark look? You know the do-i-know-you kinda look! Then he just sped off! Weird! |

Thanks, Sean - so AI no longer has any 767s - even the last FLyGlobeSpan one is gone? And ditto with the 757? Hmm..
So, can we now expect more pics of the 332 from you? That would be really welcome!
Thanks, Sumantra.

An AI 767 still does the BOM-AMD-LHR route. The 757 seems to have gone back.

^^ thats affirm. AI still use a Globespan 767. saw it operate a run yesterday morning.
BTW.. AI's moved the 743 from their kalina parking area near the hangar. couldnt see where.. though there was a -47 tail in 1 of the hangars.
hope they get them flying again.. _________________ If it aint Boeing.. I aint going. |

Thanks a lot, Vivek and D-ABTH - so one FlyGlobeSpan 767 in AI colours is still on lease at AI. Which one is this - G-CDPT/G-CEFG? I've also seen some other pics from Vishal and Avijeet of a 767 in full FlyGlobeSpan colours, apparently doing AI flights.
G-CEOD, I think. What is the latest on this?
Sean, and all regular BOM spotters: How about some more AI 330 pics?
Thanks, Sumantra. |

AFAIK, the lone 767 doing duty these days is G-CEOD, which is in Flyglopespan colours.
G-CDPT had gone tech and was returned to Flyglobespan some time ago. G-CEOD was its replacement.
I had flown on G-CEFG back in September 2007 on the BOM-AMD route. It was returned sometime later that year.

ever seen an aircraft jumping the queue to take off. here is one example where AC's B773ER was given priority over the other. It entered the runway using one of the exitways, taxied to the end of the runway and turned around for take off. Here are the sequential shots.

Thanks once again, Vivek. Yes, your trip resulted in that wonderful runway
shot of the 767 at AMD! Wow - did you click it from the terminal building
waiting area?

Well, that shot of the AI 767 was clicked in February this year. I did not click it in Sep 2007, when I actually flew on it. Anyway, the pic was clicked from outside the airport.
One memory from my trip on the AI 767 was being stranded in the aircraft at BOM for nearly 1.5 hours, as BOM airport was shut down for nearly 3 hours because of heavy un-seasonal fog that morning.

Thanks, Vivek - that was a nice perspective on how AMD came on the A.net map!
And yes, thanks for the 321 pic! BTW, are your DEL shots are from inside aircraft,
or from outside the perimeter wall? This is with regard to your A.net pic of the
AI ATR, too. And yes, just in case work brings you to Delhi, do not miss the Il-14 on the way to the International terminal: from your camera, that'll make a fantastic shot.
If you're an Il-14 fan, there used to be another in the Delhi University area, North campus.
Thanks and regards,
Sumantra. |
