Do you all think that the first class is being phased out of many airlines or seats are being reduced due to low % of yield and 80% of the flyers in First Class are either by miles or upgraded due to overbooking.
Dont you think the airlines can make more money with the introduction of premium economy which Lufthansa, Air France , Singapore Airlines etc have on board.
I hear Lufthansa is not keeping First Class on the A350, Nor has Qatar, nor has Cathay Pacific or Singapore AIrlines.
I dont even know of any B787 besided BA and EY having First Class on board.
Please post your views regarding First Class

First class is on its way out, except for a few niche routes like LHR-JFK. With the advent of premium economy, and with the present business class more like the first class of past years, paid first class is fading away.
United CEO once commented that only about 10% of the first class seats are paid, rest are upgrades, award tickets, employee travel or just vacant. On an earlier post LH revealed that only 1 first class is paid for every 3 days a week on the FRA-BLR flight. |

You can still fly first class on the Gulf carriers. They will never do away with the product.
As for the others, they all will eventually eliminate it. Maybe a few A380 operators will retain it on the whale. But I won't be surprised if they too will get rid of it and pack the whale with more economy seats. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

I am disappointed that Jet has not evolved. They have the Indian business leadership, conglomerate families and Bollywood all sewn up yet have the same F product from nearly 10/11 years ago. Don't get me wrong, it was good when it started and I was privileged to fly in it multiple times but it is distinctly average now..........and don't even get me started of zero improvement on the ground handling of F passengers! |
