Jet Airways today said it has signed a pact with Germany-based Lufthansa Technik AG for its aircraft maintenance and related works.
It has signed an MoU with Lufthansa Technik AG, for component works in two of its aircraft types (A330 and B777), personnel assignment services and maintenance management services, says a UNI report.

Kcm, what about the AI-LH Technik pact ? What happened to that? Did LH Technik go back ??

LH apparently had "some issues" with AI's maintenance standards, though the MoU is still there.

Its pays to have Experienced Expertise in Mx available until fully setup.The additite & work culture of these foreign firms like LH Technik along with their advanced software & modern technology usage makes a big difference.
Personally I like the Work atmosphere at these organisations along with their way of thinking.

Excellent move to tie up with LH technik - definitely known for their expertise. I don't know whether LHT will post crew/spares in India, or will they need the a/c to move to FRA for all MX? And is this only for the major MX or is this even for the routine Day-to-day type of checks?

Why will 9W outsource its Mx.whats the justification.Your reply is confusing.Pls elaborate.

LHT won't be cheap enough so that 9W can sign up a deal where ALL their maintenance (Line and Major) will be done by LHT for 9W... im sure 9W cannot afford that... so if they intend to do that either they outsource their Mx to LHT so that LHT offers them maintenance in return (plus 9W also pays), or else they sell more shares to get money Wink
Btw, latest: SQ Engg again returning to India for talks with AI, IC for engg outsourcing and seems they were disappointed so mayb they have had some talks with Jet Airways... wil let you know more when i get some updates.

Costwise.Its more expensive to outsource Major Mx rather than Line Mx.

9W has a good setup in place for Line Mx on all its fleet & Major Mx on its B737 fleet.

The B773ER AMEs are Authorised to cover these Line & Daily checks.They will be endorsed after 365 days.

With 9W under CAR145 organisation.Catergory 145 Approval will enabling external party Mx.
