[i]HC issues notice to Centre, Indian, Airbus on PIL

New Delhi, April 15: The Delhi High Court notices to the Centre, Airbus of state-run carrier Indian on a PIL seeking scrapping of a procedure followed in emergency landing by an A-320 aircraft.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Khanna issued the notices and sought a reply within four weeks.

The petition filed by P N Sharma, a pilot with Indian, alleged that the procedure published by European consortium Airbus, which is followed by pilots of A-320 during emergency landing immediately after take-off, was incorrect, unsafe and should be changed.

"Even today the A-320 bogie type aircraft flies in contravention to rules and regulation that is highly detrimental to flight safety. This matter is of concern as it could jeopardise the safety of the travelling public, crew and all occupants of the aircraft," the petitioner contended.

Exactly, the article doesn’t say much.
Well it’s obviously something to do with the 320 double MLG; I was hoping you would offer us some insight Mel Smile

The double bogeys were helpful on the rough surfaces of Indian airport runways during the early days of A320. The runways have improved, therefore the double bogey u/c is no longer required.
