New Delhi: Embattled state-owned carrier Air India has said its punctuality record has shown substantial improvements. Whilst its domestic flights across the network registered 77-80 per cent on-time departures in September, its track record for international departures, however, is yet to show any improvement.
Its On-Time Performance (OTP) in Delhi over the past five days has touched 100%. Delhi is the airline's operational hub, handling the maximum number of departures - of over a 100 per day.
The average OTP for flights from Delhi for September has been 96% and that for Mumbai has been equally good.
The airline's load factors and yields have also seen a dramatic increase.
Last month, Air India CMD Rohit Nandan had said he wanted the airline to achieve 80 per cent OTP in 15 days and had warned staff of action in case of failure.
The domestic and hub-and-spoke flights (domestic legs of international flights) recorded 77 per cent and 80 per cent on-time departures, respectively. |
