The 6th Aero India will be held at Yellahanka AFB from Feb 7th to 11th 2007. This time the event is being jointly organized by Farnborough International Limited, The Department of Defence Prodiction and FICCI.
Around 450 aerospace companies are likely to display their products. More than 100 aircraft are likely to be on display including the F-16 and FA-18. HAL's IJT is also going to be seen in action.
It's going to be great show. I'll definitely make it a point to visit if the show is open to general public on some days.

Cool - thanks for the heads-up. Due to the immense crowds and chaos during earlier years, I've never visited the show. I should visit this time around |

Id say in the next two or three years you can expect to see something like that in India.
Although lack of adequate airports might be a problem _________________ Geniuses are always misunderstood in their lifetimes. |

Size of Airport parking zones would be the major obstacle for such shows.

That depends on what days the show will be open for general public. It's worth paying the fees if we go in as trade visitors. It's Rs. 750.00 per person per day. You need to register in advance.

Since this event is a joint venture, will we be seeing display teams other than the suryakirans? The 4th Aeroindia had MAT(Mirage Aerobatic Team) performing with 3 Mirage 2000s, I dont know what happened to them, they didnt perform last time, hope to see something new this year.

Just out of curiousity, the 380 did welcome visits to each airline that has placed an order (Emirates, SQ, Qantas, etc). How come with Kingfisher's 5 orders of the 380 they haven't paid a visit yet? It would be great to see the 380 in the BeerJet Colours. |

I can clearly remember Mallya speaking to NDTV at Farnborough Air Show 2006 that he was interested to bring the A380 to what he called as the "BLR Air Show"... but airports are not ready... else Airbus would love bringing it to India.. besides they must be thinking to attract 9W and some more airlines _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

What is "A380 ready airport like" this is not a passenger flight...... As long as the runway is long enough for it to land and enough space for the wings to turn around, its more than sufficient!!!! If an An-124 can land in BLR i'm sure the A380 can too! |

COK is ready for A380. They have got a remote parking stand which can accomodate the whale jet from where the pax would have to be bussed. _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |

What about A340-500 coming to the Bangalore air show.KF has ordered it and I'am sure that the Yelahanka air field can handle it. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |

Mallya just mentioned about the A380 besides the A340-500s were not displayed at farnborough... the A340-600s were displayed.
But if there's a civil aircraft airshow no matter anywhere in India im sure Mallya would definately bring the widebodies he's ordered... besides 9W might want to show its B777-300ERs also.
We are still waiting for a Civilian Aircraft Airshow in India _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

If I remember correctly, Aeroindia 2005 had some civil aircrafts on static display, I am not sure how many, but I remember seeing Airdeccan there, most probably their ATR. I hope to see some wide bodies this time, it wouldbe great.
