You think pacific rather than polar? I thought polar was shorter (but not sure)
I think this is great. Good for AC. I think the non stops will keep AC FF happy in both YYZ and YVR plus having the option of a one stop via YYZ really makes the YVR 3X nonstop very tolerable for business travelers. Very similar approach to UA's SFO-TVL. I think AC is really going to skim off the highest yielding traffic Canada-DEL and would think this will hurt LH and CX (SU and the chinese carriers being the bottom feeders and thus not really competing with AC) |

I suppose when you have ~300 seats on a 787, a lot of marginal routes become viable. I do feel sorry for the pax, though I suppose this is no worse than the EK 77W. |

My view is there is no good way to travel in coach NA-India. Its just a long dam flight. I would chose saving 4 hours ANY DAY in coach. You can sleep for 8 hours so all hours above that need to be minimized. Any way people in coach can always pay for extra leg room. Also I think for older VFR, not having a connection is like gold (and many Indians in NA can now afford the $100 or $200 more for comfort for their parents) |

There is no ME3 competition on this route and AC is jumping at this opportunity.
Also while NA-India is a long flight, every one knows that people on this route are notoriously cost competitive, unless they keep the prices reasonable, AC will not be making much money on this route. |
