they've basically pushed the departure time by 2 hours both ways, what this does is it makes room for the speculated (by avbuff and 15a) DEL-HKG-MNL-BOM//RT operation.
Will be interesting. _________________ Causal Determinism : We are hardwired to need answers. The Caveman who heard a rustle in the bushes and checked out to see what it was, lived longer than the guy, who assumed it was just a breeze.

Good if it happens, even if it's something they should have done a long time ago.
And they need to work out something with the entire Airbus fleet, which spends far too much time being useless and getting a tan on various tarmacs across the world.
I do question the wisdom of starting a one-stop DEL-HKG-MNL after someone else has already started a non-stop service on the route.
Almost like the days of AI retaliating on AC's DEL-YYZ with a DEL-ATQ-BHX-YYZ and on KE's BOM-ICN with a BOM-DEL-BKK-ICN. _________________ four years free of jetya punti! |

i know this is a long shot, but why not consider a 2nd daily BOM-HKG (via MNL), this way they'd get some BOM-HKG traffic coming in, also connect HKG to their Gulf network. All this at throw away prices, mind you, that's pretty much how they function while utilizing the 6th freedom traffic rights.
The important thing will be that DEL-HKG, then won't be as much affected, as that route in itself a pretty decent performer. _________________ Causal Determinism : We are hardwired to need answers. A bit off-topic: 9W's HKG services are now one 777W and one 332. Saw both parked one beside the other around 6:15pm at HKG yesterday, around gates 43 or so, with the Kingfisher 332s beside each other, on the other side of the terminal finger. AI's 77W `Nagaland' was at the tip of the finger, at gate 48. I was inside a 100% full Economy section. Trip report being worked out.
Cheers, Sumantra. |

Looks like this connects pretty well to UA's HKG-SFO flight. |
