I know discussed before... but here is a photo from a.net.
all i can say is GOD HELP US, were running a bloody bullock cart service! Seriously, jeesh....
*yes it is an anti AI rant! as a citizen of india, i have a right to*
I think every airline having old rickety planes should (as a rule) have two sets of AI stickers in their cargo holds, so when we decide to lease them, all they have to do is stick on the AI signs within one hour and fly it to India! Lord help them

Well, it's not rickety yet but after a year there's probably a good chance.
Anyways, what other option did they have if they needed the extra capacity? They already have a fleet of A310s so what's another? Sure beats leasing oddball 763s and 752s. Then again those are wet leased as this one seems to be too so they'll likely take better care of it. |

I admit i am not a fan of the a310, but I don’t think it's a 'god help them' situation.
They have a bunch of a310s in their fleet, and they need extra capacity till their 787/737s arrive.
It makes sense in a way to get an aircraft they are familiar with rather than a 767 etc- maybe the a310 is the right size they want I don’t know.
But I do know that their 787 and 737 (for AI Express) aren’t going to all arrive anytime soon. _________________ eP007 |

Wet Lease.
CZA is sending across three sets of flight crew and four senior cabin crew. |

Hopefully the existing 310 flight crew is being cross trained on the 772LRs on 773ERs that AI will be receiving soon. Given the pilot shortage, any experience pilots we can get are a relief. But I'm confused about wet leasing the cabin crew - surely we're not falling short of cabin crew at this stage? |

This also coincides with the AI plan to reduce cabin crew strength.
By reducing cabin crew component, AI hopes to free up a sizeable no. of crew who can then be deployed on the new fleet.
But remember, the CZA lease is just one aircraft with 4 to 5 cabin crew. Hardly makes a difference.
The CZA aircraft will be really working like a mule. Seems to have a very heavy schedule. Is a well maintained plane too. |

Maybe, CSA was not too keen on a dry lease. _________________ Save Maharashtra! |
