We travelled outbound on Air India early morning (which was a good experience also) and took the last flight of the day from Chennai to Hyderabad on Paramount. Surprisingly the fares were comparable (Rs. 2300) to the other night flights from Chennai.
Arrived at the airport check in about an hour before the flight. The checkin was pleasant. Entered the terminal after security. The terminal was dirty and many of the seats had ketchup and gum, there was trash all over and coffee spilled. BOM, DEL, BLR and HYD airports are in much better shape than MAA.
The flight took off about 15 minutes late due to rain, we were bussed to the the aircraft. The E170 aircraft had 2 x 2 seating (about 64 seats), was very comfortable, with sufficient leg room and elbow room. The flight was about 75% full.
Within 5 minutes of take off, the efficient Paramount FA crew started the meals. Before meals they offered us coconut water or nimbu paani. They placed cloth on the tray, and we had choice between vegetarian or non-veg. I took the veg option, the meals were hot and tasty. It included hot soup, main course, dessert, papad and juice. All this on a 55 minute flight !!!
This is the best food I had in an aircraft after a long time. After arrival at HYD, we were bussed to the terminal.
This was a pleasant experience, I definitely recommend Paramount, provided they have competitive fares.
A full meal in an hour flight, wow !!! |

I wish I could have taken some pictures, I tried to take some of the aircraft but one security guy at MAA approached me stating due to upcoming Independence day, they are prohibiting picture taking of aircrafts. However pictures of the persons in the airports are still OK. |

That's right, pictures add a lot of flavour to Trip Reports, but there are plenty of good ones even without them.
As for taking them, I always carry my N73, which has a very insconspicuous camera. I'm always clicking away. There's no need to carry DSLRs with huge lenses, you're not looking for quality, are you? _________________ Yeah. |
