Nice article.

What i read and got scared was Arrow The entire plane entertainment system goes down (and thankfully the cascading system failure didn't spill over to the plane navigation system)!

Can this happen!

Do you mean can the IFE crash or can it affect the navigation system?

But no, I highly doubt it could affect the navigation system. (or the FMS, ACARS etc) From what I have learnt those avionics are separated- perhaps someone else with more knowledge could give you a concrete explanation.
