AI's latest 77W, VT-ALP is close to delivery. Perhaps one of the lucky ones to escape cancellation.

This one will be an AI airplane.

As per AI's upcoming deliveries, these are what were due to them as of July 2009.

VT-ALS 777-337ER
VT-ALT 777-337ER

I trust the last 7 x 77Ws will be cancelled. Hence this bird pictured here should be their second-to-last 77W.

KCM - can you confirm the name on ALP ?

As said, there may be a rejig of names. No state can be left out as it has the potential of acquiring political trouble.

And of course, the persistent buzz of new A330s coming in for the lost 777s Wink

Aircraft with range for Europe but of smaller capacity --- perhaps ideal for feeding into a European hub.

KCM, according to your scource, how many 77W might be cancelled? FlightGlobal is now reporting it as six.

Says its 5.

But Boeing and Air India are still in negotiations. So its 50:50 of it being between cancellation and deferment.

There is some confusion over sale and lease back which was twisted and made out to be a case of being returned!!!!

All the four 777s will have to go eventually once the lease agreements are reworked in Delaware and Utah --- process is mid-way.

Appears that way. VT-AIK was spotted in Toronto on 8/1.

BTW, what is the penalty for deferring as opposed to canceling? I'd imagine at some point in the future after the economy improves that the capacity will be needed again?

B777LR -- 1 Nos (With this all LRs will be delivered) --- towards August-end and may drag into September as the Air India top brass and "Aircraft Acquistion panel" is scanning everything in detail. This will be "Maharashtra". "Kerala" is in India.

B777-300ER -- 2 Nos --- "Karnataka" and "Madhya Pradesh" ("Karnataka" already in India.) Again may drag in September.
September
B777-300ER -- 1 Nos --- "Manipur". Late September as "Aircraft panel' at work.

Mr. Jadhav has suddenly found out that as many as 27 aircraft are litterng the place, either new planes or minus engines, and all hell is breaking loose. He has made it clear that upto 5 on the ground is acceptable. Unions about to start another round of tantrums.

Okay. Reconfirmed. VT-ALP "Madhya Pradesh" delivery is fixed for August 25, 2009. Is been having its checks since July 31, 2009 (first flight).

VT-ALH "Maharashtra" had its first flight on August 7, 2009. Delivery fixed for August 28, 2009.

Info is that the runways at Paine Field are being resurfaced which is affecting test flights and therefore delivery schedule.

12th A319 and 13th A321 have also been delivered till date.
