Vivek, it's very simple , Just follow these steps !
1) right click on the original thumbnail
2) in the forum, click on the URL tab, then press backspace and knock off the closing square brace of . I.e. becomes [url
3) after the word url type =
4) now copy paste the address from under the link properties which you've right clicked earlier in step 1.
5) now type in the ] immediately after the address you've just pasted.
6) now click on the Img tab, you should get [IMG]
7) copy paste the location under image properties from step 1.
8 click on the img tab again, you should now get [/img]
9) finally click on url tab, you should get
PRESTO! lol .................This tutorial should do it!
Congrats on the top shot of the day! |

Really cool one Nitin. I was chatting with Aiel the other day. Mumbai spotters have gotten spoilt by JariMari and the aircraft stopping to "pose" on A4.
Times of India wants to do a story on spotting and the editor is coming in to meet and speak to a few spotters this Thursday in Bangalore.
Anyone is welcome to attend. Just PM me. Alternately please do give me some thoughts on what we would like conveyed.
Why do we spot ?
Apart from our personal pleasures, what role do spotters play ?
Why should spotting be allowed/encouraged ?
These are just some of the questions. _________________ ----------------------

Hi Devesh - good luck for the session with the ToI!
From my perspective:
Why do we spot? I spot because we love aviation and airplanes and find them to be incredibly beautiful in flight. It's kind of similar in intent to the ornithology/"bird spotting" or wildlife spotting.
Apart from our personal pleasures, what role do spotters play? - We help form an informed set of population who understand aviation and related issues. We are able understand and explain events to the lay person and explain the importance of safety and the precautions/ procedures being followed. In addition, being alert spotters at the boundary gives the authorities that many extra sets of eyes looking out for anything unusual. This can be a major boost to the security infrastructure available at airports. And in case "spotters" are registered and security screened (like at international airports), we can become a powerful secondary workforce to be drawn upon in case of an emergency.
Why should spotting be allowed/encouraged? For the reasons listed above and for the fact that's a 100% harmless activity, imposing no additional overhead and cost to the airports. It's a great family recreational activity - something with the citizens of BLR sorely need given their otherwise stressful lives and the lack of proper public spaces to unwind in a safe and relaxing manner. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |
