Air France has become the latest carrier to repaint one of its aircraft in a retro livery, decorating this Airbus A320 to commemorate the airline's 75th anniversary.
This particular A320 is a 19-year old aircraft, F-GFKJ, and is pictured at Toulouse Blagnac Airport.
Air France emerged as a unified French carrier in October 1933, from the merger of four main operators, among them Société Générale de Transport Aérien - a company which dated back to 1919. |

So how many is that so far? Airlines with Retro liveries are SAS, Lufthansa, Iberia and now Air France. Am I missing any? Oh and I think THY also did a retro livery.
I'd love to see British Airways, Aeroflot, Alitalia... |

Yep, AA did do it on the 737 but I was just listing A320 operators. Now that I think about it I think maybe Avianca did it but that could have been a 757, same with AeroMexico...or was it Mexicana...

Yep, mentioned Iberia. Actually, turns out they listed some at the end of the article but I hadn't clicked it since I had seen the pictures elsewhere.
US Airways is slightly different as it uses the livery of the airlines combined to form the present day one but still carries US Airways titles. I''d love to see a true USAir triple red livery on an A320.
Lan Chile would be nice too. |
