Thailand to reopen old airport, giving Bangkok two hubs
BANGKOK (AFP) - Bangkok will have two international airports, after the government announced it will reopen the decades-old Don Muang amid mounting problems at the gleaming new Suvarnabhumi hub.
"The cabinet has decided to maintain two international airports for our country because there have been many setbacks at Suvarnabhumi Airport and we need to prepare to handle more passengers in the future," army-installed Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont told reporters.

What the airport codes for both the airports?
I assume it is not like Hong kong , where the new airport retained the code. |

I think Don Muang was BKK before Suvarnabhoomi opened...then it was assigned as DMK as the airport was to continu operations as charter/cargo airport or something like that _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Dom Muang was BKK until Suvarnabhoomi opened. I flew there last year so I know. The new one I believe had the code NBK while Dom Muang was still the pax apt.

I meant it was NBK while the testing was going on. Which I was I think till Aug/Sep last year. Then in Sept Suvarnabhoomi officially opened and then it got the code BKK and Dom Muang got DMK. Prior to this ie Prior to Sept 06, the new one was NBK and Dom Muang was BKK
