Hi Gang,

Just came across this absolute cracker of a shot clicked by C.P. Satyajit from MAA on Airliners.net.

A lovely angle and spectacular lighting. Would love to see more shots coming out of MAA....

I saw this on the front page but didn't pay attention to the location as i didn't Imagine it to be India.
Amazing shot, one of the best from India.

Did anybody pay attention to the equipment he uses? You'd faint probably.

Canon 1Ds mark II with 600 mm lens.

The photo must be taken from further away than I thought. Looking at it, I felt that he had runway-side spot.

MAA is quite a tough nut to crack --- security is extra tough.

Satyajit has given a clue about a new location.

--- edited ----

But he does take some real deadly shots. There is some more of his work from other Indian airports, equally great.

Well, apart from the location, he has a camera worth like 3000$ and a lens worth 12,000$! So the shots better be good Wink

Excellent shot.

Here's another pic with a clue about the location:

Here's what the caption says:

"First exterior shot of this aircraft on A.net. Shot from a newly discovered vantage point"

Any ideas, KCM?

Yes, Vivekman! Now it matches. It seems to be a riskier Jari Mari.

Have edited out the location details. Don't want to spoil Satyajit's secret and have him be harrassed by security.
But can PM you about it.

I was looking up his A.net profile and his threads and I see that this shot was rejected 4 times.
Seems the screeners gave him a hard time, nothing new. What a waste of time and I congratulate his patience. if it was me after the second rejn , I would have stopped uploading, swearing in my mind at the screeners.

That's a great shot.

As for being rejected the screeners there are idiots. It should have been accepted purely on its location. Granted there are MANY similar pictures but few if any at MAA.

His website is pretty interesting to browse through, a couple of other interesting aviation snaps and angles can be found buried there.
