I just tried to check fares to UK by 9W, ie DEL-LHR for Mar/Apr. The fare was USD926, isnt that on the higher side. Also 9W should make a profit on fares like that if they can fill the plane. How do they manage to charge so high though?

Checked some more

Direct flights
9W - USD926
BA - USD786
VS - USD766

One Stop
EK - USD809
QR - USD799

Cheers

PS - When I tried AI this is what I got
"Due to unavoidable circumstances, sale of tickets on the web for this sector on your chosen date is not currently available.Inconvenience sincerely regretted. Please contact your nearest Air India Booking Office or your travel agent for assistance."

OK no seats Arrow higher fares Arrow greater revenue. How are they still making a loss on the route then?

Cheers

Seat availibilty is there...their website displays full flights most of the time...this is another dirty trick by 9W. They will give a unconfirmed ticket and when you reach the airport you find flight half full. Jet has been doind it in many domestic routes also

I'm quite how airlines manage hidding such facts from people.

well if theres any chap working in a travel agency he might throw light on this but personally i dnt think there is something called an unconfirmed ticket either it is confirmed or it is not there is nothing in between ... if iam not mistaken no BSP ticket is issued unless the itinerary is confirmed
