Indian carriers accuse Dubai airlines of BASA violations

Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l) The Federation of Indian Airlines representing Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l), IndiGo Airlines (6E, Delhi Int'l), SpiceJet (SG, Delhi Int'l) and GoAir (G8, Mumbai Int'l) have complained to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that Emirates and flydubai are exceeding their seat allocations on Dubai Int'l India routes. The Business Standard reports that the Indian carriers accuse the Dubai airlines of going over their allotted 63,000 weekly seats.

Emirates and flydubai have both denied the accusations, saying that they adhere to all regulations as set by the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA).

Meanwhile, India's Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Nayan Choubey said that the UAE carriers had similarly complained about the Indian carriers exceeding their quotas.

"These issues will soon be addressed when the next round of bilateral talks happens," Choubey is reported as saying.

The Indian government is shortly due to enter talks with Dubai and Abu Dhabi with which it has separate BASAs and is in discussions with Indian airlines to review current arrangements.

Urge you to read a lot of content first. Statements like these will ensure you never build any credibility to what you post.
