One.
Airport is Navy controlled.
Recently got ILS and night landing and runway has been extended to 10,000 ft.

IA now wants to use Vizag as a stopover for its Hyd-Singapore/SE Asia flights. Is also thinking of direct international A319 flights.

AIX has also expressed interest.

The plane went into the bushes and came to a halt, according to the Vizag
Air Traffic Controller Pattabhi.
The flight took off from Hyderabad at 9.55 am and reached Vizag at 10.55 am.
Several flights to and from Visakhapatnam including those of Indian, Air Sahara and Air-Deccan have been cancelled.

Most continue to be expats, including women crew.

Flt operatons are now back to normal. The Embraer was removed using a caterpillar machine and wooden planks.

The Indian Navy has also asked Paramount to explain why action cannot be taken against it for "spreading lies" that the aircraft got stuck in mud.
The Navy says that IA which has 16 flts, most with the B737, operated all without any problem, so where was there any "mud issue'?

Has said Paramount just bungled.
