Saw this article about a hoarding in Bombay. There was a posting on this forum regarding the same hoarding. Couldn't find the post. So I am posting this as a new topic.

I wouldn't know about how these hoardings do anything other than raising a chuckle or three. Fact remains, as an air passenger, I just wish they (the airlines) would invest more time and resources on better technologies to serve their passengers better.

Rather than on hoardings. Or celebrities.

^^^ So, should they just stop marketing altogether? It is just a marketing campaign. You make it sound like they are lowering (or not raising) their service standards in order to place ads. Confused

BTW.. the all new 777-300ER for 9W was in BOM last night.. being worked on all through the night with only the internal cabin lights on .. not even the wingtip lights giving away her position in the dark parked on the new parking stands just near the entry to Rwy 27

Any pics of the 777 in BOM?

BTW - I think the advertising is fantastic. Atleast it shows every one is having fun. Yes poor 9W - having been sprung for their boring positioning and conservative outlook. But every one knows they are a great airline and so nothing's lost. If I were young Mr Goyal, I would probably chuckle as well. Anyone know or heard how he may have reacted???

1) The heading for this topic is "Ad hoardings reveal India's competitive streak". Since it refers to 3 airlines, passing chuckles around like peanuts, I want to know how this will reveal "India's competitive streak".

2) Marketing is great fun, but truth is in numbers, and customers sign cheque books regardless of hoardings.

+++

Service standards vis-a-vis marketing, now that's a debate, but a different debate.

+++

This debate, since it is on an aviation website, needs to know how 2 (or 3) airline ads can reveal "India's competitive streak". That's all.

actually GO AIR's hoarding doesnt directly swipe the others IMO.. but i just loved IT's advert!! really fits their image as a whole.. much like VS v/s BA in the height of their spat Smile

Go Air just got in on it for fun but as lightly as possible without any direct take on either IT or 9W

IA might have the last word in this.

They are once again expecting to break Indian civil aviation passenger carriage record in a day.

and on the top
Air Deccan: "We make you change ur airline choice" Razz

Air Deccan should be:

We always short change you.

or

We change your mood. That's a guarantee.

or

Fly us. See your face change red.

or

Changed? Its us. Air Deccan is now Air Dakkan

Oh correct so it goes as follows:
Jet Airways: " We've Changed"
Kingfisher: "We made them change"
GoAir: "We've not changed"
Air Deccan: "Fly us and see your mood change"
Indian Airlines: "We'll never change"
Laughing

Poor 9W. Suffering at the hands of IT. Personally I dont think this ads will make anyone change their choice of airlines.

BTW, the sequence decided by KCM & 380 is hilarious Laughing Laughing

According to me it should be:

Jet Airways: " We've Changed"
Kingfisher: "We made them change"
GoAir: "We've not changed"
Air Deccan: "Fly us and see yourself change in a way you never imagined you could be-- a monster(our service will make you one)"
Indian Airlines: "We'll never change"
Air India: "We'll definately change the hydraulics"
Jagson: "Now what's left in us that we should change?"
Spicejet: "Wow!! What a change after flying DN!!!"
Indian Air Force : "Who has the guts to make us change??"
Indus Air : "We are leagues ahead-- we were the 1st to change-- from flying to grounded"
Paramount : "Change-not required"

Cheers
Shivendra

Basically the Jet hoarding now reads "Fly off with us to New York" or something similar and KF has a very weak "They've flown from here to New York" above it. Couldn't see anything from Go Air there.

Looks llke Mallya's got my habit of commenting on everything Razz Wink Laughing
Well this time GoAir might not come in but Air India might come in saying "Book Your ticket in Air India tilll New York and end up flying in Jet Airways from Brussels, because thats where our aircraft will make more emergency landings now" Razz

BTW Mallya should have put up something like "We've Driven them out"

It means now VJM is desperately trying to 'pull down' Jet Airways, he's practically thinking of cutting every ad of theirs. Looks like 9W has to find another place to put their hoardings peacefully Wink Razz Laughing
