What about the expenses that 9W has paid for training these pilots ??? IT takes them for free...without any "investment" ?

It's a dirty competitive world. A pilot is labour, looking at it that way so are mechanics and ground staff. Firms pay to train employees; employees have the option to leave the firm if they want. The obvious difference is (as you pointed out) airlines spend massive amounts of money to train their pilots and now with the pilot shortage they need to hold on to them. They hold on to those pilots by making them sign a contract.
If KF comes in and offers a higher salary, is it the friendliest thing to do? No of course not. Competition can suck. The way Jet Airways and Deccan and whoever avoids this is by making them sign a contract of some sort (based on time or hours or whatever).
If the person really likes his job and is happy with the airline or whatever, then an increased salary won’t be enough to persuade him to change jobs. It would have to be a damn good offer.

You can argue that it’s unfair and unethical to ‘steal’ other airlines pilots and you are right……… but with the current staff shortage airlines will do a lot to get and keep their staff.
If airline A causes pilot of airline B to break his contract with airline B I can see a problem. Otherwise airline B loses a pilot and the money they invested in him.

It depends on the Airline. Some pilots leave an operator clear their dues & the operator has no objection retaining them.
