I know it is a little puzzling, but who else besides me thinks that the A380 is a little bit of a wobbly aircraft...now..I havent even seen it in person-forget fly on board any of the test flights..
But just in looking at numerous videos, the wings appear to flex more than normal, the tail/vertical stab also pivots about rather too quickly for the size :(24m)...more recently, seen at the funny landings at LAX,JFK..
I bet that the passengers will feel a gentle undulating motion during, not unlike in a ship's cabin..
Hell...it may be just MOI
But seriously, what do you guys think? Or is it those huge gull-wings playing tricks ?
But fantastic amount of real-estate though..its creative use only limited by an airlines imagination OR its bank balance.. |

given its size the wingflex and apparent fumble you seem to find odd.. i find logical and normal.
the 747 itself has a very beautiful amount of wingflex apparent in some landings but very apparent in cruise and takeoff..
the flexibility of the "flapping" of the A380s wings is to my mind built "into the design" given its MTOW and structure also accounting for the load of the huge engines on the wings.
From what i know personally, stability has not been reported to be an issue.. although a common laymans point of view on heavies generally tends to assume that they are sluggish and "heavy" in response.. which is actually quite to the contrary. (although some types are indeed so) _________________ If it aint Boeing.. I aint going. |

The A380 Wing root attachment creates a taper outwards on this bird. The Wing flex is not an issue for Discomfort as the Aircraft is Built to withstand the Flex.
According to people flown on the A380.The Exerience is as good if not better than other Aircraft.

I (obviously) haven’t been lucky enough to fly in it, but I saw the a380 back in 2005 at the Paris Air show, and it looks better in the air than it does on the ground
From what I have read, the in-flight experience is great, the cabin is quite and the journalists reported a smooth flight. _________________ eP007 |
