BJP MP, Mr. Babubhai Katara was arrested at Delhi airport after it was discovered that he was trying to a woman and a boy out of India on his wife's and son's passport. He had managed to get through immigration and was detained by AI gate staff who found that the photograph on the passport did not match. Well they got that far huh? The immigration people didn’t seem too bothered about it I guess because they let him through the first time. They only rushed into action when AI complained. Sneaking objects through the x-ray machine, well ok that can happen once in a while. But clearing immigration with passports with different pictures? They had apparently come to Britain in a similar way from India. They were going to board the Air India Birmingham-Toronto flight when they were caught by a special passport check. In contrast, there is no immigration check at LHR for flights to India. Only the airline staff check your passport to check if you have a visa for your destination. Some years back there was no immigration check for flights leaving Canada (apart from the airline staff check mentioned above). Is this still true?
