Bollywood diva Preity Zinta is the latest to be roped in by an airline -- GoAir -- as brand ambassador to help prop up its image in an increasingly competitive market, says NDTV Profit.
Announcing Zinta as its brand icon, the budget carrier said it was the first in its class to ‘‘appoint a Bollywood actress’’ to that position.
Hindi film superstar Sharukh ’King’ Khan, who stars beside Zinta in car promotional ads, is himself no stanger to the aviation industry, given the fact that he serves as a member on the Board of leading private carrier Jet Airways.
Keeping him company on Jet’s Board are film producer Yash Chopra and noted lyricist Javed Akhtar.
Model and actress Yana Gupta has a contract with Kingfisher Airlines of liquor baron Vijay Mallya, while others like Soha Ali Khan make do with promoting air hostess academies.
Bollywood has even promoted a foreign airline, with Pooja Bhatt playing a role for British carrier Virgin Atlantic.
The recent global brand launch of Jet Airways in Mumbai saw Shahrukh and Shabana Azmi promoting the airline’s plush new seats, which would be put on board the new aircraft the premier private carrier would be shortly inducting.
A GoAir statement said Preity would partner with the airline to make a strong statement in the airline space.
‘‘The dazzling, gorgeous, charming’’ Preity personifies what the brand stands for -- energetic, fun, stylish and youthful’’, the statement quoted GoAir’s MD Jeh Wadia as saying, says the release. |

Go air quickly taking the que from Jet airways by appointing another film star as their brand ambassador.In this case Preity Zinta.
It would be intresting to see if KF will pick any film star as their brand ambassador?Wonder who will be the lucky one  if KF also has this idea on their mind.

Not surprising as Ness Wadia is supposed to be her boyfriend... was expecting this long ago.

I dont think the 2 Ness's are the same are they?
The Ness owning Bawa air is a slightly balding, paunchy fellow. While the Zinta-babys arm-candy at a recent film function was a thin fellow.

I find it weird when a Celebrity starts endorsing a product on the media that they themselves dont use.
Not in this case in particular,But like SRK & the Hair oil etc.
