To be registered VT-JWF. Any comments?
I guess it looks better now. It takes time to get used to a newer livery many-a-times especially when we were used to the older livery

Or is it just done by the manufactureres whenever they deliver a new acft to an airline? In this case it is for 9W.We saw that with boeing when they came up with a new livery for AIs new B777-200ER.

looks shit.... i've said this before and il say it again... WTF were they thinking with the aft design??

new age curves just do not mix with old age cheatline design... moreso when they are made to blend in a fashion like this...

the least they could do was let the blue curve on the fuse towards the aft flow seamlessly into the tail.... instead no.... they brought the curve to swoop up much before the tail makin it look like a real rotten mishmash..

New aircraft will obviously get the new livery and old aircraft will be repainted when normally scheduled to do so unless the airline wants to pull them out of service for this purpose.

I dunno buy why this livery doesn't make me sit up and say WOW!!! Shocked

It just looks like - Yeah so what's new? Kind of a livery. Not impressive as AI's and certainly not AIX's.

Cheers

Well one thing for sure, the new livery would look shit on the smaller aircrafts. Looks however Ok on the wide bodies

Credits to LeftWing in Anet for this idea.
Just comparing their older livery with that of SQ

I like the ribbon-cutting look. Although I think the current one by Delta, with the Wave on the tail, carried the wavy look too far..the Delta tail looks like it caught a large parachute or a balloon in its flightpath!!
But it looks like Delta is also all set to change its livery!
I must say though it must be quite a cost. I wonder how the airlines can invest in this at a time when margins are already squeezed. Or maybe there is some "creative accounting practice" that takes care of that. Wink

Airlines repaint their aircraft at scheduled intervals anyway so there is no extra cost except for the few they take out of service initially and even then, those particular aircraft may have been scheduled for a repaint anyway.

What about the cost of paying ridiculous amounts to consultants for even more ridiculous designs?

Cheers

I'm confused... See these two pics of 2 different A330's of 9W. The new one has a pointed end of it's engine, whereas the second one has nothing of such sort.

Why the former has GE engines and the latter Rolls Royce?
What about the rest (yet to come)?

In your first pic, the one with the new livery, it has GE engines. The one in the second pic has Rolls-Royce. The reason for this is that the Rolls-Royce one is being leased from ILFC and that is probably what they had available. Since Jet was desperate for aircraft they took it. All the A330s that Jet has directly purchased will have GE engines.

AI painted VT-ALA in the new colours, now there is going to be a scheme change...same with IC
And besides why didn't 9W get this new scheme on its fist wide body ie its first 330 ?
Or was the new livery declared later ?
Won't this repainting cost more to the airline ?

The leased A332s will be returned to ILFC.

The livery change was contracted out to Landor only in 2006, after the leased aircraft were put into service.

Jet isn't Air India.

I don't think that the A340s will be repainted because as B773ERs are on their way, so these A340s will be soon returned to SAA.

Ideally its painted during Check C.
For a proper paint job a controlled environment is ideally needed.

I never said anything to the contrary. I'm sure they'll send it where there is a proper facility.
