Air Deccan, one of India's leading private airlines, won an excellence award Monday for the best low fare airline of 2006 by the Air Passenger Association of India (APAI), says a UNI report.
'Air connectivity is the key to harness the vast potential that the tourism and hospitality industry has in India,' G.R. Gopinath, managing director of Air Deccan, said in a statement.
'Tourism is the largest industry in the world today and a harbinger of development, employment and prosperity to a region. The need of the hour therefore is to develop effective infrastructure and air connectivity throughout the country,' Gopinath added.
Air Deccan, which commands a market share of 21.6 percent, has the largest network in India, currently covering 64 airports and plying over 350 flights a day, ends the UNI release.

No comments! The less said the better! Let DN do the talking...
BTW what are the parameters they got rated on. I personally think SpiceJet does a great job as a LCC.. What say?
Just wanted to know, Alliance is converted into a LCC now is it? _________________ victor2alpha |

The less said the better about APAI. In the latest JetWings, APAI claims it has over 10000 members, and 9Ws ghost writer for Naresh Goyal seems to have fallen for it too.
I am one of those who got suckered into shelling out 2500/- rupees for a membership of APAI, and soon discovered it was like a Ponzi/MLM scheme - each member gets something back for bringing in more members. |

To make more money, they can lobby towards saying that pax would be refunded the fare and not the tax since the airline will lose more money that way.. They can earn by keeping that tax.. lol.. _________________ victor2alpha |
