BA has stepped down from B744 to B772 on their DEL sector any issues with their loads??
So that makes BOM the only place in india where they will operate the B747-400 (1X 744 , 1X772) and i suppose that B747-400 is going on the
LHR - BAH - DOH- BAH - LHR sector which is being stepped up from a B777-200 to B747-400 |

Some talk that BLR-LHR may move to a B-747-400 soon, replacing the 777 there. Must say, their 75 minute connection at LHR for the BLR-LHR-SFO flight works quite well, despite rushing from T4 for the BLR flight, to T1 for the SFO flight.
Last few BLR-SFO that my people have done have been on BA, and beats via SIN on SQ, and gives LH via FRA a run for the money. Though how the new APD will impact costs remains to be seen |

Hmm! I thought all the US bound flights of BA were on T4. |

Many of our folks had to be sent on BA (last minute ticket availability issue), and have vowed not to fly again:
1. 3 out of 4 pax had their baggage misplaced
2. No miles in Economy
So we've come around to LH/SQ once again - with SQ on the 773ER ruling the roost |

No miles in Y--ouch and considering yoll picked it up last minute tickets--those must be the full fare based ones---.
But BA in Y must be atleast better than LH---i know AQ is in a league of its own.

Not really full fare ones (though BA is stingy in miles even there), manage to often get good last minute fares on BA.
For comparison, here's what my company normally pays for travel on BLR-SFO:
LH (Q class) - Rs. 73K + Rs16K taxes = Rs89K total
SQ (W class) - Rs. 67K + Rs17K taxes = Rs84K total
BA (H/M/B class) - Rs. 58K-Rs69K (depending on class) + Rs17K taxes = Rs75K - Rs 87K total
So the fares are all really similar.
LH has the big problem that cancellation is now at 25% of the ticket price!!! Changes have a fee of Rs3000+fare diff (if any)
SQ is the best for changes/cancellation - changes unlimited at no charge (subject to seat availability), and cancellation only Rs.1000.
BA - don't remember the rules, but they're easier than LH. |

Forgot to add, that full miles on LH and SQ, and zero miles on BA |

i dont know where you got the info from that we dont offer full miles on Y class tickets... as far as i know the full fare and higher ticket classes get the highest mileage allotable for eco passengers... the W and other lower discount tickets get the lowest of about 2000 miles (imo 2000 miles is the lowest we offer... even new enrollments into Miles and More at the airport get it) _________________ If it aint Boeing.. I think you misunderstood - I said that on BA you don't get miles, but you do get miles on LH and SQ!

There is a buzz in the Kolkata media that BA will double frequency on LHR-CCU-LHR route; i.e. from 3 to 6 B772 flights every week. Recently there has been a lot of activity in the Kolkata skies with MH and RJ bidding farewell and EK,LH and 9W (to BKK) launching services. There is also talk of MH resuming operations here. |
