Bigger aircraft to fly on domestic routes in 2008

Wednesday, January 02, 2008 (17:00 IST)
By Mayuresh Pawar | Mumbai

Indian airliner companies will fly bigger (wide-bodies) aircraft on the domestic circuits in 2008, to counter the competition in the fast-consolidating Indian aviation industry. Captain Manoj Bhambhani, Chief Pilot - Training & Standards, Jet Airways, says, "The Boeing 737-900 ER series aircraft carries more passengers and it will also further economise domestic fares, since the cost per average seat-kilometre will come down. The resultant price-war will help frequent flyers."

When did the 737 and the A320 become wide-body?? Rolling Eyes

The 215-seater 737-900 ER series aircraft is an improved version of the 180-seater Airbus A-320 aircraft, which was until now the preferred model for low-cost airlines.Question

The above line took the cake in the report.............. Laughing

It's amazing the level of idiocy at websites/newspapers, etc., when describing airlines or aircraft.

The funniest situations are in the movies, or TV shows, where they show people sitting in an obvious one-aisle aircraft, and then showing an outer picture of a 747 in flight!

Just hilarious!
