Talk about Soviet era airliners , was lucky to have spotted two stunners recently !  This brings back a flood of memories of Aeroflot IL96s on short finals for BOM right thru the 90s!
Here is the beautiful Aeroflot IL96-300!
And here is the IL62M operated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) of Russia !

Thanks Mel & Akbar! Some pertinent observations: The IL96-300 will put the A340 or similar a/c from Boeing to shame on the noise front! Atleast this one did. It was shockingly silent compared! 
The IL62M lived up to the expectations,  it was similar to the vintage classic B737-200 taking off, with everything vibrating like hell! |

Nice catches Sean! When was the Aeroflot IL-96 picture taken? (as in which month/year)

Yep Aeroflot-Don.But sorry it was the il-86....Very cramped airplanebut quick and a not so noisy guy.But the experience was awesome!

IL-86, sweet. I'd love to say I flew one... or even seen one LOL. None here in Canada sadly.
