On my last trip to HYD, I searched thru my late grandpa's slide collection and found a few aviation slides and picked them up. I have scanned them my level best.
{My grandpa- Mr.N.V.Subba Rao was the principal and a vice chancellor for a while at Osmania university and on his research work et al he used travel a lot around the globe.}
Heres AI's 747-237B VT-EBN 'Rajendra Chola' at KJFK.
And one more slide of Pandit Nehru getting off an IAF plane at Warangal, Andhra Pradesh.
And a Pan Am 707 at an identified airport. HNL i suppose.

Hey Sreenath....great pics there, especially the 747-237B. Good to see VT-EBN at JFK prior to the upper deck conversion. Brings back memories ... my old man flew those 747-237Bs (hence the username) & as a kid, I was with him on the flight deck of several of those flights to JFK, back in the day! Good times !!! |

But yeah, I love to see pics of those 707s and 742s from private collections....at times they are more real than those you find on A.net, etc. |

Sreenath,
Have you put these pictures on A.net? I'm sure they would accept it without any sort of screening. |

A.net usually makes an exception for vintage photos. You'll have to get rid of the giant copyright mark though, that really ruins the picture but I understand you want to protect it.
Anyways, fantastic pics, whether they accept them or not! |

The Pandit Nehru picture is just Fantastic, & is that car or some sort of a towing truck right under the nose of the Panam aircraft?

Sreenath: Lovely pics, thanks a lot for sharing!
Aseem-ji: Nice observation - had his hands been a bit higher, it would look like he was going to take a dive!
Cheers, Sumantra. |

could be that those guys are there to see him off, at least this what I can make out from the way he is saluting them goodbye. And the ladder has been withdrawn. _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

The Air-India 742B has finally got trhu JetPhotos.net, thanks to VJ and his efforts. Working with thse slides has really increased my respect for grandpa even tho I didnt have the fortune of seeing him in person.
Thanks to all of you who were supporting me for the slides here on Ainet.
AI 747-237B at JFK.
Honolulu Airport in the 1960s.
Now this makes want to goto HYD and dig for more slides.

Go and dig for those slides pleeeeaaasssssseeeeeee
Superb photos and a treasure to have, and a blessing for you to share them with us here!
IAF is a Viscount 700 - the 800 series did not have circular doors!
My first flight was on a Viscount 800 of BMA in the UK, they bought some viscounts from Air India/ IAF years ago - my dad condemned one of them in the Isle of Man post her ferry flight to the UK due to heavy corrosion!
Thanks for sharing these wonderful shots and bringing back memories of the golden age of aviation! _________________ If it isn't broke - then dont try to fix it!
