It seems VT-JEA did the BOM-BRU-EWR and VT-JEC did the BOM-LHR flight.
Saw both going off.
VT-JEC's wheels lifted off the runway at exactly 2:28am whereas, VT-JEA took off at 3:10am. |

Yeah Right !!
Yes, Me & Sean were spotting,
we went there on the 1st of August to catch VT-ALA's first &
we went on 5th Aug to catch Jet's First BOM-BRU-EWR
Any free time i get (which is not much), i love to spend it there.
As a matter of fact on 5th Aug, I was actually supposed to be at work as my shift was 2:30am till 11:30am,
but just after being there didnt feel like leaving so I called in to work sick & stayed there till 5am |

Well that's what Sean suggests to me everytime we go there, actually not a bad idea might get a flat in return somewhere in New Mumbai or Goregaon as thts where these guys would be rehoused once these houses are demolished.
And about the effort well thats nothing, I feel a sense of immense peace & freedom in being there & witnessing these sights, believe me its is beyond surreal at night & when those jet engines roar & that heavy metal gallops down the runway its one hell-of-a-sight to behold.

EEEEYUP VJ, I couldn't agree more with you. One never can say, I might just consider staying as a Paying Guest with those poor souls so that we fellas (the two plane crazy dorks VJ & SD ) can let our souls rise higher and higher towards the sky !!! |

AFAIK, JEC & JED were delivered to 9W before they commenced their EWR service. While checking in for the innaugral 9W 227 on Aug 05, I happened to talk to their EWR Station Manager, Ricky W. Ahmed, who expressed his surprise that the powers that be didn't see it fit to innaugrate the new sector with a 3 day old airplane, but rather deploy them on the LHR run & send in JEA & JEB to EWR. It was kind of disappointing to see JEA at EWR's remote parking as my AA MD-80 taxied in, as I was hoping it was JED or JEC. Nonetheless she was a splendid sight, and looked grand as she was towed to dept. gate 57 for her maiden flt. out of EWR. |
