Stayed awake all night, watching all 5 episodes of Flying Heavy Metal with Bruce Dickinson - Discovery Wings on my computer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Heavy_Metal, which traced the evolution of commercial airplanes from the good ol' prop days to the jetliners of today, with the last episode ending on a description of things to come in the future namely the Airbus A380 & Boeing 7E7 as is was called just a year or two back (when this series was filmed).
Well as soon as it ended @ around 3:30am, turned on CNN where our eccentric presenter Richard Quest was, at Everett - Washington.
And in a few moments, the curtains unveiled, here is the dream coming true :

Here are a few samples, photos © jetphotos.net & airliners.net respectively
Post which me & my friend 'super-spotter' Sean D'Silva jetted to runway 27 to catch Eva Air 747 & Finnnair A340 (which we did & the photos of which I would be putting up very shortly), too bad Yash could'nt make it as he was too lazy to get up after watching the release telecast. |

Congrats Boeing! You are doing a great job.Keep it up.You continue to keep Boeing fans like me very happy .After thirteen years of long break,Boeing has come up with another marvel that is environmently friendly, fuel efficient and useful for long distance flights.
It is already turning out to be a great hit for Boeing. As to date there are 47 customes who have ordered B787 and the list is bound to grow further in coming years. The total no.of orders as of now stands 677.Boeing says that 787 will come into passenger service from May 2008 which is quite early.
Its going to be a tough road ahead for Airbus which is struggling to do well in selling its long-haul jets compared to Boeing. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |
