Delta to resume Mumbai-New York JFK nonstop after a decade from December 22

Delta will resume New York JFK-Mumbai nonstop from December 22. Mumbai-JFK Delta flight will be from December 24 and it will be the second longest route by the airline.

On re-entering the India market, Delta CEO Ed Bastian said nonstop service between New York and Mumbai “is the latest example of our international growth as we strive to connect the world better than any other airline. This route would not be possible without the administration's ongoing efforts to enforce fair competition in international travel, ensuring that consumers enjoy a wide range of choices as they travel the globe.”

The flight will leave JFK at 9.15 pm and reach Mumbai at 10.50 pm (next day). The return flight will depart Mumbai at 12.50 am and reach JFK at 6.35 am (all times local).

Delta will operate the route with a newly renovated Boeing 777-200LR that will have seatback entertainment, Gogo Ku Wi-Fi connectivity and free mobile messaging. “The JFK-Mumbai flight will be operated out of Delta’s premier international gateway at New York-JFK, and will offer convenient connections from more than 50 communities throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America. Demand for flights between the US and India has increased significantly in the last decade, and New York is the largest US market to India with the largest base of corporate customers,” Delta said in a statement.

Delta 1H20 Mumbai frequency variations

Delta Air Lines in the first half of 2020 plans to adjust New York JFK – Mumbai frequency, previously not covered on Airlineroute when the airline opened reservation on 05MAY19.

From 04FEB20 to 03MAY20 (JFK departure), overall service will be 5 weekly, instead of 7.

Boeing 777-200LR operates this route.

Following schedule is effective 29MAR20 – 03MAY20.

Delta adjusts New York – Mumbai frequencies in 2020

Delta Air Lines in the last few weeks filed additional changes for New York JFK – Mumbai route, set to begin on 22DEC19. Latest adjustment sees the Skyteam member schedules this route daily on year-round basis, instead of 5 weekly during off-peak season (from 04FEB20), 7 weekly in peak season.

This route is operated by 777-200LR aircraft.
