True this wont happen anytime soon bt this thing will definately hit air travel in a big way. Rather than making planes more luxurious if the manufacturers can actually make planes fly more faster then i guess its much more better _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |

Singapore Airlines, in the early 1980s, used to advertide on the last page of Time magazine. The advt used to be around a supersonic plane concept which promised a travel time between Singapore and New York of 50 minutes. Plane in the advt used to look like a B-52, bat shaped.
The ad line of SQ in that advt was, "We'll only have to pour the Dom Perignon a little faster!" |

These are more of media oriented articles rather than some reality. We have been hearing about NASA making hypersonic passenger aircrafts and india-usa in 2 hours blah blah blah.
More of nonsense than anything worth actually. Spend your resources on making better gadgets to make flying further safe than such rubbish _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

When we were under training in the '70s, a trick question used to be:- assume you are able to take a hot air balloon to (say) outer space from Delhi, then will you land at the other end in North America in the same latitude 12 hours later?
There is obviously a flaw in this hypothesis.
Likewise this "40 minutes" concept. In this lifetime, at least. |
