i just hope it survives our type of travellers.. and knowing AI's woes with the quality of flyers they get.. i'm wondering when its gonna be decorated with paan stains and the likes..
Beautiful interiors as these should be maintained well and cared for. _________________ If it aint Boeing.. I aint going. |

In the first pic,At the top,Behind the bar you can see the curve in the ceiling.
Are they going to have 777 type bins? |

Why are their two different types of sinks for business class? That second business class sink looks like it should belong in first. |

airline meals always come with a special packaging along with which they are to be heated. The curry explosion took place because the cabin crew brought her own microwable meal bought frm a super market and tried to heat it up _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |

Excuse me for sounding cynical, but is this the new product they are going to be offering on their newly ordered planes?
If it is, i must say that its quite a sad upgrade. The F class doesnt even seem to have lie flat seats?!?
Or is this just an interim step? I am confused.

No these are only for refurbished planes.
I reached this point as the seats are provided by weber and the seats for the new ones will be provided be aviointeriors |

Actually the seats you see in First are lie-flat seats, albeit the earlier generation of lie flat seats. The picture as shown shows them not fully extended. The seats are very comfortable but lack the privacy that the shell type seats provide.
The new F Class seats on the AI 777s are the individual shell type seats.
Incidentally, I think that the upgrade is fantastic. The red gold and orange colors of the cabins bring back memories of AI's Boeing 747-200s in the 1970s. Also, I love the new 777 style bins and the upper deck curved bins.
Good job, Air India. For a change!!!! |

The J class seats look good so does Y. I am not too sure about F. I think they should have opted for the shell type seats to stay with the competition. I do not see the logic in a refurbishing an aircraft with a product that is not on par with competition. That the 777 will have them is no excuse for not having them on the 744s which will probably last for a few more years.

I agree that they should have updated First as well, but then this is Air India. You take what you can get. In this case, that's 8 out of 10, which is far better than their usual 1 out of 10 performance.
Lets just hope that AI can maintain these aircraft for another 5-6 years. |
