Interesting, the engine only showed signs of trouble after an hour.

BBC now says the swarm was flying as a thick cloud about 3,500 feet when the jet passed into the bee cloud.
After the surge and a fire alarm in the cockpit, the plane landed where engineers found about what they estimated to be about 30,000 insects smeared on the blades.
Now each blade has to be checked alongwith other engine systems. |

Why did the Surge effect take place an hour later,or do they mean it occured after an Hour in flight.
