|

UA's Mileage Plus program has made changes to its partner earnings, effective Mar 1, 2015. Many of the fares which were earning 100% will earn 75 to 50%, especially LH and TK. Tickets issued on UA stock, will be based on the new earning method which is revenue based. One positive change is some LX fares will now earn miles and also no change in AI earnings either.
Surprisingly, there is no change to Premier Qualification Mile earnings. They will continue to remain the same. |

^^ Yes - saw this yesterday noon, was initially aghast and almost considering a switch to QR, but then saw that the PQM rules haven't changed that much. Even the cheapest LH fare classes gets 100% PQM - and hence the status aspects stay unchanged (hopefully), so will probably stick to LH/ UA for my 2015 travel. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

It will now require bit more planning before hitting 'buy' - do you buy UA stock and settle for the revenue multiplier or do you ticket on LH stock and try to find the sweet spot in terms of $, fare class, mileage accrual (and upgradability if you care for that). Good news is that PQM stays at 100% for all fares, and premier bonus will continue (which in many cases will ensure you will accrue more by buying LH stock rather than 016). |
