DGCA panel to check IGI snags
NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked Indian Airlines and Air India to give a list of snags suffered and planes grounded in the past six months. Officials of the two airlines went to the DGCA on Monday and Tuesday to outline the problems being faced by their fleet.
The DGCA has worked out a three-pronged check for all the aircraft being flown by AI and IA. In the first stage, the airlines’ maintenance engineers would thoroughly check all the planes within two days. "Then quality assurance teams of AI and IA would perform repeat checks. Finally, DGCA teams will check the entire fleet," said highly placed sources. |
