That is unfortunately, very true. We haven't found a replacement for Saurav Ganguly or Anil Kumble yet, why, after all these years there is still no replacement for Kapil Dev!
My blood boils when I hear village idiot commentators on the internet saying that Cheteshwar Pujara is the new Rahul Dravid! Is there a limit to idiocy?? Seems not!
Spiderguy is right. Sachin's 70 something in Ahmedabad and Dhoni's 99 in Nagpur have ensured that they will be playing against Australia. I will not be surprised if Zaheer Khan is brought back as well.
And all the up-and-coming youngsters will either be carrying bottles or grinding away in the Ranji Trophy. Worse, some of them will be happy with spending their IPL riches. To hell with the game, national pride and all such poppycock _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Er no, the Australian tests are due to be held in India, and the retention of Tendulkar, Dhoni and Zaheer for that series is what I was implying. The four venues are Chennai, Delhi, Kanpur and Mohali.
Our next tour to Australia is in the fall of 2014/15, followed by a tri-series featuring Australia, India and England, and topping it off with the World Cup. Ideal preparation, you'd have to say, but too far ahead to look at now. _________________ Yeah. |

oh of course they are! No doubt about that.
The question is as to why our 'superstars' aren't putting up half a fight, that too in our own backyard. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Pity it was a draw, should have been a loss to actually generate some change that is unlikely to happen now.
In fact, watch all of this - the 4-0 against England, the 4-0 against Australia and this 2-1 against the Poms at home be brushed under the table because it didn't finish on a low note, and because we're probably likely to win a couple of ODIs against Pakistan next week.
Such is how Indian cricket works. _________________ Yeah. |

Is it known why SRT went off the field during the final day? Does it signify anything? _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Must have been expecting a not-so-fun call from his sponsors. |

Was he? I thought I saw him shaking hands with Cook and co. as he was walking back up the stairs at the end of the game and they were coming down to the field. _________________ Yeah. |

Ok, it is time for the England ODIs now.
IMHO, despite all the recent setbacks our chaps may fancy doing well against England because their bowling attack is as bad/inexperienced as ours. The three main wicket takers in the test series, Anderson, Swann and Panesar, will not be playing . The England bowling attack will comprise of Steven Finn, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes, Samit Patel, James Treadwell, Stuart Meakin and Jade Dernbach. To be honest, apart from Finn none of the others seem threatening. Broad and Bresnan have struggled of late and the others haven't really played much.
So, I guess we can expect a few 300+ scores. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Finn is a top performer. Ripped through us last year, was the only shining light of that ODI series for the Poms. I expect him to take wickets. _________________ Yeah. |
