For all who celebrate Diwali, for those of us who don't, for the believers and non-believers alike... Heppy Diwali, hnn !
May you be blessed with everything (to keep it short; one could go on and on and on and on!).
Have a good one ! _________________ four years free of jetya punti! |

I am officially fed up of the bloody crackers now. Even the earplugs don't help. Ugh. _________________ four years free of jetya punti! |

Just throw the earplugs away, get some of the noisiest crackers available, and give everyone the taste of their own medicine. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

My perception of Diwali this year in BLR was that it was considerably quieter than previous years. Good for the environment! _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

And here in Mumbai, it keeps getting noisier every year.
Anyway, Happy 'belated' Diwali to one and all. |

Unfortunately Diwali in India is reduced to a noisy joke and nothing else.
However my friends tell me BOM was less noisy than previous years. |

Yes, Diwali is less noisy than it was before. Similarly during Sankranthi in January, not many are now flying kites atleast in Hyderabad.
But for many Diwali is associated with fireworks, there are non-noisy fireworks too, which everyone can enjoy. I hope this tradition does not go away.
Fireworks is part of a tradition in many countries. In USA & other countries, it is during independence day, in UK it is during Guy Fawkes day. In USA, independence day is just as noisy today (in places where personal fireworks are legal). Even professional fireworks are noisy too, but everyone appears to enjoy it. And those who dont, just do not participate. |
