What became of the quaint realistic village set up to film the movie Sholay, was it torn down or does it still exist? do you think it would work as an eco-tourist spot? I think it would draw alot of the films fans, would love to visit the place myself and spend some time there.

Most of the shooting for Sholay was done in the neighbourhood of "Ramanagaram" - about 60 kms SW of Bangalore on the way to Mysore. The area has these massive rocks and you can see that as you drive past the town towards Mysore.
The specific sets etc. - not sure. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

More information from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sholay
Quote: | To this day, a visit to the "Sholay rocks" (where the film was shot) is offered to tourists traveling through Ramanagara, located on the road between Bangalore and Mysore. |

If you drive down the Bangalore-Mysore highway, you can spot the location amongst the barren hills about an hour out from Bangalore. _________________ Yeah. |
